Vacationland - It Came To An End All Too Fast!

Our last day of vacation! We had a fantastic trip but I was ready to go home and take it easy for a while. We covered 2300 miles and 11 states - that's almost a quarter of all the states in 10 days time! We drove through Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

Our first stop on the way home was Providence, Rhode Island. We had heard that KFC was trialing a new sandwich - the Double Down. It's a chicken sandwich that has chicken patties on both end instead of bread. I could only handle a couple of bites but Tom seemed to like it. He doesn't think he'll ever buy it again but it was definitely an experience!

Next on the list was Mystic, Connecticut - a great little town on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. We loved how quaint and well kept up it was, not to mention it's halfway between Boston and New York City. We're always looking for the next place we want to live and this place has a lot of potential!

The next stop on our Ivy League Tour was Yale in New Haven, Connecticut. I was surprised in the same way I was at MIT - Yale was not very secluded or exclusive. But it did have the cool buildings and historic feeling like Harvard.

I shot this picture somewhere in New York or New Jersey - it's the familiar road we take between Baltimore and New York City. It means we're getting close to NYC!

Last stop on the Ivy League Tour was Princeton in New Jersey. This was the secluded and exclusive place I was envisioning all the Ivy League Schools to be. It also had all the cool old buildings and feel of history being made. I think it was my favorite of all the schools we saw.

Below are the dorms - how cool are they? I wish I got to stay in dorm like this!

After wandering around Princeton we got to see a beautiful sunset on the drive home to make a perfect end to our great vacation! Hope you enjoyed the recap as much as we enjoyed the trip - Congratulations if you made it this far!
