Vacationland - Cambridge and Temple

After exploring Boston for a few days we decided to head to Cambridge. Our first stop was the Boston temple. We were amazed by the stained glass - it made everything inside look celestial. We decided that this is one of our favorite temples along with San Diego and Las Vegas.

Next we headed to downtown Cambridge and MIT. I was surprised that MIT was right on the Charles River, that the campus was so small, and how randomly placed the buildings were. I guess I expected MIT to be more secluded and exclusive. This is the view of downtown Boston and the Charles River from MIT.

These were some of my favorite parts of MIT - Smart Street and the very cool Stata Building.

After wandering around MIT we headed to Harvard. Here is Tom "Pahking the cah in Hah-vahd Yahd." Harvard Yard are the grounds in between all the buildings that are now Freshman Dorms. It is required for all freshman to stay in the dorms. All the old brick buildings were so cool and there was definitely a feeling of history and happening there. An interesting fact - if you get admitted to Harvard they basically guarantee that you will have all the help you need to pay your $55,000 annual fees for tuition, room and board.

This is the Freshman Cafeteria Building with a few classrooms to boot - how cool is that? We couldn't go in the actual eating area but it looked just like where they ate in Harry Potter!

This is the hallway of the Freshman Cafeteria just outside the eating room.

Here are some more cool shots around the grounds of Harvard:
